An island’s heritage
Sri Lanka is the home and world’s largest producer of true cinnamon, marketed as Pure Ceylon Cinnamon. The Ceylon Cinnamon geographical indication recognises its distinctive origin; it does not imply certification of our company.
Long known as the Spice Island, Sri Lanka’s cinnamon has been traditionally valued in food, perfumery and medicine since ancient times. Its trade helped shape the voyages of the fifteenth-century age of exploration.
Cinnamon, not cassia
True cinnamon has delicate, layered quills and a gentle, complex aroma shaped by the island’s growing conditions. Unlike cassia, it is naturally low in coumarin. We celebrate it as a spice, without making medical claims.
